Some details of Soviet plans for a large-scale program of automation of industry and of national economic management are beginning to appear with the promulgation of the directives of the 24th CPSU Congress. All national industrial, transport, construction, and agricultural ministries are to have computerized management control systems in operation by 1975, the end of the current five-year plan.
