The jobs available in the Air Force’s space and missile career field and the backgrounds required for them have changed greatly, making it difficult to match the right person to the right job — or even to prepare for a future job. Using data from surveys of experienced officers and from personnel records, the authors sought the gaps between supply and demand and modeled ways to fill them. Their results can be used to help improve career guidance for officers, and possibly also for enlisted and civilian personnel.
