An examination of the major interdependent subareas of maintainability and of their relation to human-factor problems. The subareas considered are (1) design for maintainability, (2) training the maintenance man for the responsibility of maintaining the equipment, and (3) the tools, equipment, and/or aids that are necessary to enable the maintenance man to meet his responsibilities.
