There seems to be an increasing awareness, both among the military and in the business world, of the potentialities or gaming for educational and exploratory purposes. The RAND Corporation has been engaged in gaming activities almost since its inception. The present paper is devoted to a brief presentation of one of its more recent efforts in this direction, namely the "strategic war planning" game of SWAP.
